  • To offer English practice and improve comprehension and spoken English ability, not only with teachers, but also with US and other international students
  • To provide plenty of challenge and growth opportunities
  • To offer a wide variety of experiences and promote cross- cultural understanding.

How many students can participate? How do we reserve our space?

FIUTS can accommodate groups of many sizes – from 12 to 100 students per group.

How do we request a formal proposal from FIUTS?

In order to start confirming a schedule of activities and preparing a proposal for your program, please fill out the Visiting Program Information Sheet and return it to FIUTS. It takes approximately one week for us to prepare a complete proposal.

What other short term programs has FIUTS hosted?

FIUTS ran three separate visiting programs in the past, all with Japanese institutions:

  • Minami Kyushu Junior College, 1980 – 2006
  • Hyogo High School, Hyogo Prefecture, 1977-2002 – attaching a publicity piece from the 20th Anniversary of that program
  • Kobe High School, Kawasaki International Program Fund, 1980-1999

Does FIUTS handle visas and international travel?

No, FIUTS does not handle international travel arrangements or provide visas. Because our program provides part-time educational instruction and part-time sightseeing and recreation, your groups can come on a B1 or B2 visa – they are permitted to enroll in  any course of study less than 18 hours per week and to travel for tourism and amusement. FIUTS cannot issue I-20s, but we can issue a program information letter indicating that the program is prepaid and includes meals and excursions.
